President’s Voice – February 2025
Hello BARW!
I received an email recently from the Harris County Republican Party titled: Have you ever thought about running for a position on the ballot? Come learn more! (If you are not on their email distribution – here’s the link – SignUp (scroll to bottom of page)).
It got me thinking about our upcoming BARW luncheon meeting on February 25th. We have witnessed and supported our guest speaker, Alex Mealer, and many others in their run for judicial and county seats here in Harris County only to come up short.
It made me think of their passion for issues in our county and communities by offering their solutions. Elections are high-stakes affairs filled with anticipation, hard work, and a high emotional investment for the candidate, their families and their supporters.
Most of the candidates aren’t going to win. Many candidates have bounced back to realize a successful career as public servants, whether in or outside of politics.
If you are thinking of or know someone who is entertaining the thought of running for office – I encourage you to do so. I challenge you to find a qualified strong candidate that we can put our support behind.
Harris County is holding a Judicial Candidate Information Session on Saturday, February 22. Over 70 Judicial races are on the ballot in 2026. Here is the sign up form.
On Saturday, March 1st, they are holding a Candidate Informational Session for those interested in running for local government positions like the School Board, City Council and Mayor. Some expected speakers are former candidates Cindy Siegel, Kyle Scott, and Alex Mealer. Here is the sign up form.
Running in Harris County is no easy accomplishment as we all know. We NEED some amazing candidates to run for offices, especially the County Judge and Commissioners Court. Will that be you?
Let’s Keep Texas RED!
