President’s Voice – January 2024
2024 is now. Your BARW board is ready to engage. Let’s unite and continue to achieve success in electing Republican leaders that believe in the underlying principles of the Republican Party, government by the people, and the belief that we (BARW), must be part of the process if it is to work effectively.
Our Houston City Council has some new faces. We have a new mayor. GOP-endorsed candidates obtained three of four at-large seats. We were able to keep 2 districts (A&G), and District E is now occupied by our very own, Fred Flickinger. These candidates worked tirelessly and the grassroots efforts of our club added to their successful run. I want to thank each of the candidates for attending our meetings and we hope to see you in attendance in 2024. We would like to get updates as to how things are going and what we can do to help.
It’s been three years of waiting to elect a new President. Now, we wait no longer. November 5th will be here before we know it. Until then, we have our precinct and SD conventions, primaries in March and our state convention in May (San Antonio). We need to elect principled men and women who will put our republican principles first, know the issues and not one that will be promoting their own agenda.
If you have not heard: Our BARW monthly meetings have now changed to lunch meetings. Our sign in and social will begin at 11:00 am and our meeting will begin promptly at 12:00 pm. Lunch cost is $29.00 (lunch is not optional & can be paid at the door). This is a preselected meal by the chef that includes: salad, meal, desert, coffee and tea). Our location has not changed. We are still at the Bay Oak Country Club @ 14545 Bay Oaks Blvd. 77059. It’s important that you RSVP to email@example.com. Our January 23rd speaker is Steve Munisteri, Senior Advisor to Governor Gregg Abbott.
I would like to challenge each member to peruse your BARW 2023 membership booklet and find those members that you have not spoken to in a while and make a personal phone call to invite them to our January 23rd meeting. Let them know they are missed and we would love for them to come back.
Your board is here for you. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time. Please see page 14 for Board contact information.
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, January 23rd.
