Voice of the President – January 2020
Greetings and Happy New Year!
Beginning this year, 2020, BARW will start meeting every 4th Tuesday of the month for breakfast at the Bay Oaks Country Club. The doors will open at 7:30 a.m., with the meeting beginning at 8:00 – Sharp! The objectives of our meetings will be:
- To promote an informed electorate through political education
- To increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government
through active political participation
- To facilitate cooperation among Republican Women of Texas
- To foster loyalty to the Republican Party and to promote its ideals, and
- To work for the election of the Republican Party’s nominees
For the BARW, 2020 is the year of “More Than Conquerors.” Just as St. Paul instructed the Romans, we are not defeated amid adversity. That’s when we are at our best. President Trump is an example on how to fight when the bowling balls are being thrown down the lane to strike us out.
There are two things we should not consider retiring from: God and Country. We, The People of the Bay Area Republican Women are soliciting those of you that are ready to meet the challenges of 2020. I encourage you to participate in local and national campaigns with more than conversations and “likes” on Facebook. Also, BARW will sponsor a “Vote Today” neighborhood sign campaign to alert voters to vote on Election Day – Stay tuned for more information!
As I step into her shoes, I would like to give a special thank you to Elizabeth Lauzon, Immediate Past President for two years of dedicated and committed service. She went above and beyond to fulfill her duties to BARW. I would also like to express my appreciation for all of the Republican Women who proudly brought us through 52 years of Bay Area Republican Women.
Beverly Ferguson-Cooper, M.Ed.
