President’s Voice – February 2024
Hello BARW!
Our January luncheon meeting of 2024 went well. Our attendance was high. It was nice to see so many BARW ladies’ return. We hope to continue increasing our attendance. Bring a friend this month on February 27th! Our speakers are Senator Mayes Middleton and State Representative Dennis Paul.
One of the things I like about the election year is meeting the candidates. Candidates schedule time to attend as many events as they can encouraging their supporters to tell others about their campaign and why we should vote for them on election day. They also want to meet those constituents that are not committed to any one candidate to determine how they may sway them to their side of the fence.
If you have chosen a candidate, get on board with their campaign now. Candidates are seeking volunteers who are passionate about them and their cause. Recruiting dedicated volunteers is a pivotal aspect of grassroots campaigning.
There are many opportunities to go door-to-door-knocking to distribute campaign literature. Door-to-door canvassing remains one of the most effective campaign strategies, especially for grassroots campaigns and independent candidates. You can also send out group and individual emails and text messages, distribute and put-up signs and work the polling locations.
Here is an excellent source of the 2024 Primary filing information: 2024 Primary Filing Information – Harris County Republican Party (harriscountygop.com). This will list the candidates and their contact information. There is also a listing of the precinct chairs that have filed. In case you did not know that – we do vote for our precinct chairs.
I can’t say enough about our January speaker, Steve Munisteri. His enthusiasm and energy brought excitement to the room, and I truly hope you left rejuvenated and ready to roll up your sleeves.
Remember, February 20th begins the First Day of Early Voting. That is just days away. We have a lot of work to do!
Keep Texas Red!
